Who checked what, and what nobody has checked
This page separates the figures that come from sources we do not produce, the standards audited by outside bodies, the checks we run ourselves, and the part nobody has verified.
Updated 11 October 2026
"Verifiable" means nothing without saying who did the verifying. The layers below run from the strongest — data we did not create — down to the layer that is still empty.
Layer 1 · Data we did not produce
385,757 hotspot detections, 1 January to 30 July 2026
Checked by / source: NASA FIRMS
Satellite thermal detections are public data, detected and published by an outside agency. We did not create these figures and cannot alter them; anyone can request the same archive and compare.
Satellite imagery and base maps
Checked by / source: Sentinel-2 cloudless by EOX · OpenStreetMap
Every map layer is external data. We do not retouch imagery or move features.
Layer 2 · Standards audited by outside bodies
628 GAP plots and 419 organic plots
Checked by / source: The certifying body for each standard
Each plot's standard is recorded in the plot register, and certification is carried out by outside bodies under each standard's own system. The limit we have to state: we do not yet publish certificate numbers, certifying bodies or expiry dates on this site.
Organisational carbon footprint
Checked by / source: Carbon footprint certification body
The company holds an organisational carbon footprint certification. Its scope covers the organisation's operations, not emissions at farm level.
Layer 3 · Checks we run ourselves
The 250 m distance from plot to detection
Checked by / source: Our system, measured along the earth's surface
Calculated geodesically rather than on a plane, giving 39 plots. This was once reported as 21 and corrected on 9 October 2026; the correction is in the changelog.
Reconciling the site against the internal register
Checked by / source: Automated tests
Plot counts, the standards split and the 250 m result are compared on every build. If the two sides disagree, publication fails before it reaches the site.
Blocking forbidden fields
Checked by / source: Automated tests
A test fails the moment a forbidden field, such as a phone number, reaches the public data set.
Layer 4 · What nobody has checked
- No external assurance provider has checked any figure on this site.
- Certificate numbers, certifying bodies and expiry dates are not published per plot.
- There is no assured annual sustainability report yet.
- Our plan is limited assurance by an external provider over selected indicators, starting with published plot count, the 250 m result and purchase volumes.
Check our figures yourself
- Request the same period from NASA FIRMS and compare it with the totals we report.
- Open the plot map and compare the plot coordinates against another provider's satellite imagery.
- Read the methodology page for the assumptions and limits behind each figure.
